Polaris® Slingshot® Power
The unique layout of the Polaris® Slingshot opens up worlds of opportunity for riders, however, like with any vehicle, you need a good engine backing you up if you’re going to make it very far down the road. The Polaris® Slingshot is outfitted with a 2.4 Liter Dual Overhead Cam Ecotecî engine, which is capable of producing up to 173 horsepower. At 4700 RPM this engine will create an astounding 166 ft. lbs of torque, so you can really put the rubber to the road. To make sure you can get plenty of mileage out of the engine, the Slingshot features a 9-gallon fuel tank, so you can spend more time on the road and less at the pump.
Polaris® Slingshot® Control
With its unique low to the ground profile, the Slingshot certainly looks like nothing else on the road. Polaris® made sure that the Slingshot’s low to the ground design wouldn’t interrupt its tight maneuvering and agile capabilities. Equipped with Electronic Power Assisted Steering for tight cornering, and built with sport-tuned suspension for responsive handling, driving a Slingshot feels a bit like driving a car, and a lot like flying!
Polaris® Slingshot® Safety
The Polaris® Slingshot, by definition, is a motorcycle, so for rider and passenger safety, a motorcycle helmet is required. To make sure that riders are exceptionally safe, Polaris® has included lots of smart features. The three-point safety belts fasten just like a regular automobile to keep you secure. The Slingshot’s disc brakes with ABS help you to balance the power of the engine, while the roll hoops above the headrest will help in case of a rollover accident. Because of the Slingshot’s low to the ground build, visibility is a priority for Polaris®, so they’ve equipped this roadster with bright LED taillights, and projector beam headlights so oncoming traffic won’t be able to miss you.
Polaris® Slingshot® Style
The Slingshot is built with a low to the ground style, with low profile tires for improved grip on the road, a reverse tilt hood for easy access to the engine compartment, and beautiful full-color polymer body panels, which provide rust and impact resistant protection for your Slingshot. The lightweight components of the cab are all waterproof for easy care and maintenance.
